The legendary multi award winning musical Evita returns to London this July. The show tells the iconic story of Eva, the wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Perón, who lifts herself from humble origins to become the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ of the Argentine people. With the inimitable Emma Hatton (Elphaba, Wicked), taking the title role this revival is set to dazzle West End audiences once more.

Following its astonishing run at London’s Dominion Theatre in 2014 Bill Kenwright’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita returns the legendary musical tale to the West End once more. The production will play at the Phoenix Theatre from 28 July - 14 October 2017.

The multi award winning musical tells the story of Eva, a young woman who lifts herself from obscure, humble origins to become the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ of the Argentine people. From brave teenage escapades to the bright lights of Buenos Aires to bounding leaps up the Argentinian cultural ladder, Eva’s journey earns her many powerful allies and enemies.

Through her marriage to former Argentine dictator Juan Perón, Eva’s political vitality cements her mythic status in the country shared cultural history.

The season marks the 65th anniversary of the death of Eva Perón, with the incredible Emma Hatton (Wicked, We Will Rock You) portraying the eponymous character, and Gian Marco Schiaretti (Tarzan) as the revolutionary Che. The show features some of the most memorable songs in musical theatre history, including “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”, “On This Night of a Thousand Stars”, “You Must Love Me”, and “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”.

The talented ensemble also includes Oscar Balmaseda, Sarah O’Connor, George Arvidson, Lewis Barnshaw, Jessica Ellen, Callum Fitzgerald, Kellie Gnauck, Dominic Adam Griffin, Joe McCourt, Jude Neill, Jordan Oliver, Chrissie Perkins, Oliver Slade, Matias Stegmann and Yuval Zoref.

With over 20 major awards to its name, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita is a revival that no musical theatre aficionado should dare miss.
