The Comeback Tickets

Noel Coward Theatre

Comedy duo Ben Ashenden and Alex Owen (The Pin) bring a brand new backstage farce to London with The Comeback at the Noel Coward Theatre.

Backstage rivalry and comic ambition hit the West End this Winter when comedy duo Ben Ashenden and Alex Owen debut The Comeback at the Noel Coward Theatre.

When up-and-coming comedians Ben and Alex are booked to open for an older double act’s comeback tour, neither pair are pleased to walk out to a half empty audience in a boring seaside town. But then word gets around that a Hollywood director is attending, and the battle for relevance begins. With mayhem mounting both onstage and off as the comedic quartet jockey for a big break, The Comeback is a silly and joyful new farce about friendship in the face of ambition.

The Comeback is the debut play from Ben Ashenden and Alex Owen, best known for their work on BBC Radio 4’s The Pin. They also star as up-and-coming comedians Ben and Alex in the show. Emily Burns directs, with set and costume design by Rosanna Vize, lighting by Prema Mehta and sound and music by Giles Thomas.

If physical comedy and witty wordplay in the tradition of Noises Off wasn’t enough, audiences can also expect a celebrity guest at each performance.

Full of old school charm and feel-good giggles, The Comeback at the Noel Coward Theatre begins a socially distanced season on 8 December 2020.
