Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor Danny DeVito makes his West End debut alongside Olivier and Tony Award-winner Richard Griffiths in all-new revival of Neil Simon’s riotous play The Sunshine Boys. Directed by Thea Sharrock (Blithe Spirt, 13), The Sunshine Boys is the hilarious yet touching tale of Kings of comedy Willie Clark and Al Lewis.

Clark and Lewis, otherwise known as ‘The Sunshine Boys’, have not spoken to each other for years. When CBS call for the comedy greats to be reunited for a nostalgic trip into the Vaudevillian History of Comedy, grudges, sniping and old rivalry are dragged up from the past. Taking centre-stage once more, can this legendary double-act overcome their stark differences for one final show? A classic comedy about show business and friendship, The Sunshine Boys is both side-splitting yet thoroughly heart-warming.

Legendary actors Danny DeVito and Richard Griffiths star as Willie Clark and Al Lewis respectively. DeVito is well-known for his comic turns in Matilda, Friends and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as well as appearing in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and The Simpsons amongst many others. Richard Griffiths is the beloved British actor who has starred in The History Boys and Equus, and is well-known for playing Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter series. Further cast members include Adam Levy as Ben Silverman, Rebecca Blackstone as Miss MacKintosh and Nick Blakeley as Eddie, as well as Petter Cadden, Johnnie Fiori and William Maxwell.

The Sunshine Boys is directed by Thea Sharrock, who recently received an Olivier Award for her production of After the Dance at the National Theatre. Creative team includes design by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting design by Neil Austin and sound design by Ian Dickinson. Said to be the theatrical event of the year, The Sunshine Boys is the hugely funny story about bitterness and whopping great egos, opening at London’s Savoy Theatre for a limited season.
