LocationThe Lyric Theatre sits on the famous Shaftesbury Avenue next to the Apollo Theatre. In the heart of the West End, it is easily reachable from Piccadilly Circus, Soho, Chinatown and Leicester Square. There is excellent shopping on Regent Street nearby, with two large parks within ten minutes of the theatre. There are many food and drink options all a stone’s throw away from the venue, with excellent transport links all situated in short walking distance. Due to its prime location in Central London, it is advisable to check www.tfl.gov.uk before travelling.
RailCharing Cross is the closest rail station to the theatre, approximately a 15-20 minute walk away. From the station, turn left toward Trafalgar Square, heading to the National Gallery. As the road curves, it turns into Pall Mall. Follow the road, turn right onto Whitcomb Street and continue to Wardour Street until you reach Shaftesbury Avenue. Turn left, cross Rupert Street and the theatre is located on the right, next to the Apollo Theatre.
TubePiccadilly Circus tube station is less than a 5 minute walk away, served by the Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines. When you are still in the station, leave via the Shaftesbury Avenue exit. Once you are above ground, walk away from Piccadilly Circus, on the left side of the street. Cross Denman and Great Windmill Streets, and the Lyric Theatre will be on your left.
Leicester Square tube station is approximately 7 minutes away from the theatre, with access to the Northern and Piccadilly lines.
BusBus routes 14, 19 and 38 stop along Shaftesbury Avenue near the Lyric Theatre. In Piccadilly Circus, you can also find the following routes: 6, 12, 23, 88, 94, 139, 159 and 453, which all stop at different points on Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus.
CarThe Lyric Theatre is about 10 minutes from Q-Park’s Chinatown and Soho car parks. This venue participates in the Theatreland scheme, which grants a 50% discount on parking costs. Fees start at £22 for up to 3 hours, and £29.50 for 4 hours.
The theatre falls within London’s Congestion Charge Zone, which costs £11.50 between 7am and 6pm. Drop-offs are allowed in front of the theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue or around the corner on Rupert Street.
